Yanagita Kunio and Japanese Folklore Studies in the 21st Century is a collection of essays and resources compiled and edited by Ronald A. Morse. This free ebook is a by-product of a Japanese-language book project sponsored by Fujiwara Shoten publishers of Japan. The Japanese-language book, Yanagita Kunio Studies Around the World (世界の中の柳田国男), will be published in October 2012 and contain twice as many articles as this English version.

The goal in making this English-language ebook available free of charge is to stimulate renewed international interest in Yanagita Kunio (1875-1962) and the field of Japanese folklore studies.

The book was formatted by Japanime Co. Ltd. / Manga University for use on Amazon's Kindle devices and Kindle desktop application; the iBooks app on Apple's iPad, iPhone and iPod touch; and as a standard PDF.
